National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health is the
Federal agency responsible for conducting research and making recommendations
for the prevention of work-related injury and illness. NIOSH was
established to help assure safe and healthful employment conditions
for working men and women by providing research, information, education,
and training in the field of occupational safety and health.
American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN)
Occupational and environmental health nursing is the specialty practice
that provides for and delivers health and safety programs and services
to workers, worker populations, and community groups. As the primary
association for the largest group of health care professionals serving
the workplace, AAOHN is driven by a mission to ensure that occupational
and environmental nurses are the authority on health, safety, productivity,
and disability management for worker populations.
